The 3rd XI timed their run chase to perfection at Hindhead against Churt 3rd XI.
Winning the toss and inviting Churt to bat, Tilford's bowlers kept the run rate under control initially by collecting a couple of early wickets and avoiding many loose deliveries. Matt Marsh batted well for his 38 until mis-timing a drive to Franks who took a good return catch. However that brought Garrett and Blackman to the crease and they batted aggressively scoring 30 and 31 respectively which propelled Churt to a par score of 153 for 9 and batting on for the extra 3 overs meant that Tilford needed to score at over 4 an over in the 37 available.
Knight and Bussell made an excellent start playing with caution and punishing the rare bad balls and putting on 100 for the first wicket before both falling in quick succession for 57 and 46. However, the evergreen Hunt and ever-youthful MacDonald picked up the challenge and accelerated Tilford to the victory target in 34 overs.
